approximately $10 million more than their worth as office
buildings. This transaction was one of the 2002 REBNY deals of
the year and part of the acquisition of the United Federation of
Teachers (UFT) buildings at 50 Broadway and a long – term
leasehold with equity participation at 52 Broadway. In addition,
we advised the UFT concerning a $40 million bridge loan with
Amalgamated Bank/GMAC to facilitate the purchase of 50 Broadway
before the sale of the 3-building portfolio. Aggregate value of
the total deal: $117 million. |
